Squeaky Toy Amongst Men

Amidst the clash of iron wills,

Where hardened men, like mountains, stand,

I am a squeaky toy, soft and frail,

In a world where steel commands.

At thirty years, I stood alone,

Amidst the echoes of my kin,

At my grandfather's final rest,

Where family roots entwined within.

Their tales of valour filled the air,

Of opposition, battles won,

Manly stories, bold and fierce,

Against the might of power's throne.

I listened, awed by strength displayed,

By ancestors with hearts of steel,

And then I turned within to find,

My struggles seemed so faint, unreal.

My modern woes, though loud they seemed,

Were but a whisper in the storm,

Of hardships faced by those before,

Who fought with grit, who fought to reform.

I felt a toy, a squeaky voice,

Amidst these men of iron will,

A symbol of my fragile state,

In a legacy so vast, so still.

Their hardened lives, a testament,

To courage born of fire and strife,

While I, a gentle squeak of thought,

Found my own battles, small in life.

Yet now, a spark ignites within,

A flame to forge a path anew,

No longer bound by doubts and fears,

I rise, my strength and purpose true.

For I, once feeling emasculated,

By job, society, and thoughts so grim,

Now stride forth, rejuvenated,

To wield my power, spread my wings.

No longer just a squeaky toy,

But a monarch in my own right,

I'll build my realm with courage bold,

And rule with wisdom, love, and light.

So let the city bear witness,

To the rise of a newfound king,

For from the ashes of self-doubt,

A spirit now takes wing.

I'll craft my path with steadfast heart,

In honour of the strength they've shown,

And proudly join the line of men,

Who made their mark, who forged their own.
